The quality was nice albeit the finish is a little rough, not as smooth or dark as the picture makes it appear to be. Although I feel the roughness has to do with the scratches ALL OVER the flat top surface of my board. If you look closely you can see squiggly marks all over the surface of my "NEW," "unused" tray. It looks like someone was using it as a surface to test all their pens out.
