My claw-type picker broke. I got this one and am pleased so far. I like that it has 3 prongs, the fruit stays secure until you get it down. With the 2-prongs, the fruit can slide out the side. I also have the basket kind of fruit harvester but this one is better for more precision and to get lemons that are angled sideways. It was expensive so I hope it lasts. My other kind lasted 10 years with lots of use. I’ve used this with lemons and grapefruits so far. Wish the longer one was available.I looked a long time to find something to pick my oranges. I finally decided this was worth a try. It was a little expensive but works fantastic and worth the price. My tree produces large oranges that have to be twisted several times and this picker worked great. Extension length was perfect. Would definitely recommend this product.Wish I got this sooner. I’m using it so far for papaya will use for tangerine and lemon when in season. Works really well for Papaya! Other pickers are to small and don’t work with tight clustered fruit. Grabs the fruit secure without damaging it. The only negative I can see is the jaws that grab the fruit are plastic so not sure how they will hold up. There is some flex when twisting the fruit off. Would be 5++?stars if they were made with metal.This tool is infinitely better than the basket-type fruit pickers which puncture and bruise the fruit and snag branches on the tree. You can grab each fruit individually and twist it off even when they are very close together. You can't pick more than one at a time like with the basket but you can lower the end down and set the fruit carefully on the ground instead of having to haul it all the way in and pick the fruit out of the basket so it isn't really any slower to use. I got the 10 foot model and can easily reach anywhere in my big pear tree.I don't like to get up on ladders, and I don't want to prune my peach tree so low that I can reach the fruit without one. This picker is the perfect solution. I bought the 6' size. I was able to pick ripe peaches without bruising them. You grab the peach gently and twist a little, and if it's ripe it will come off the branch.It kind of reminds me of those claw machines they have at some restaurants where you put money in then try to maneuver the claw to pick up a toy.This is an elegant and perfect tool for plucking fruit. I had a fruit picker that had two clasping grasping surfaces that had worked very well, but it broke and I found it has been discontinued on Amazon. But this one is better and I'm glad I ordered it. It is much more efficient and gentle for picking Asian pears than the basket type fruit pickers.We have a very large pear tree that we needed to be able to reach high for the pears. This works perfect. I just picked 2 bushels in 30 minutes or so. Beats having my husband lift me up on the platform of the tractor! Although that might still happen for the very top.This tool made picking pears a perfect pairing! Next, looking forward to reaching all the apples.This is a fantastic tool. I am elderly and I picked over 200 pounds of apples with it in a reasonable amount of time. It not only allows you to reach the top of most apple trees, but also allows you to pick one apple without disturbing adjacent fruit. It makes picking fruit safe by eliminating the hazard of ladders.
